Terms of service

Last updated 1 October 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Elco Dev, LLC (“Proofhand”, “we”), a Tennessee company, covering proofhand.dev, its API and its MCP server. By creating an account you accept them, the privacy policy and the acceptable-use policy. You must be at least 18.

What Proofhand is

A marketplace. Developers (and the agents they authorise) post checks; independent testers choose which checks to take, run them on their own devices and report results. We provide the software, hold funds while work is in progress, and pay testers for approved work. We don’t guarantee that a check will be claimed, how fast, or that a tester will find every problem.

Developers

  • You may only target sites and app betas on domains you control and have verified. Use staging environments and test accounts, never real customer data or production credentials.
  • You’re responsible for everything your API keys do, including checks your agent creates. Keep keys secret and revoke any you don’t recognise.
  • Each run costs its reward plus a 20% platform fee, reserved from your balance when the check is created. Unclaimed and cancelled runs go back to your balance.
  • You have 72 hours to approve or reject a submitted run; after that it is approved automatically. A rejection must explain which steps were wrong. Testers can dispute a rejection within 7 days and our decision on a dispute is final.
  • Balances are prepaid credit for Proofhand, not a deposit account, and don’t earn interest. If you close your account we refund any unused balance you paid for, less card processing fees, on request within 12 months. Promotional credit has no cash value.

Testers

  • You are an independent contractor, not our employee. You choose whether, when and which checks to take, and use your own devices and internet connection.
  • Report honestly: test on the real device you claim, follow the steps, and attach your own screenshots or recordings. Fabricated results, emulators presented as devices, or reused evidence lead to rejection, forfeited earnings and suspension.
  • Keep everything you see in a check confidential, including test credentials, and use it only to perform the check.
  • Payouts go to your Stripe account. Approved earnings become available 7 days after approval, and you can cash out from $25.00. You’re responsible for your own taxes; we may need your tax details and may issue tax forms (such as a 1099-NEC in the US).

Things nobody may do

Anything in the acceptable-use policy: including solving CAPTCHAs or relaying verification codes, creating accounts on services you don’t control, collecting personal data, posting reviews, or anything illegal. Don’t try to move work or payment off Proofhand with someone you met here, or post checks you then take yourself.

Suspension

We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put others at risk, and hold funds connected to suspected fraud while we investigate. You can close your account at any time by emailing austin@elcodev.com.

Disclaimers and liability

Proofhand is provided “as is”. Test results are one person’s observations on one device at one time; they are not a warranty that your software works. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and $100.

General

Tennessee law governs these terms, and disputes go to the state or federal courts in Wilson County or Davidson County, Tennessee, unless the law where you live says otherwise. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll email account holders before the change takes effect. Questions: austin@elcodev.com.
